Southern Bowhunting's Fourth Annual Archery Team Competition

Southern Bowhunting  is pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Southern Bowhunting Archery Team Competiton. We are looking for bowhunters to establish four person teams to compete during the upcoming season. We have a list of rules and all members are given points for their harvests. Since some members live in areas where there are naturally bigger bucks than others, rack sizes do not count. You recieve points for bucks and doe and then you get a bonus deer. The points of the buck are however addd to your score. There are also points given for hogs, bobcats and yotes not to mention, the points received by a member who can pull off a grand slam. All team members points are added up and combined for their team score to determine the winner. This is fun like you have never seen and you have to watch it daily to see who is in first place because it changes daily.

To become eligable, you must register on the Southern Bowhunting Forum and then sign up for the contest. It is asked that each member post at least 15 posts to prove that they are there for the long haul. Many posts are made in the Trash Talking post for the contest which is pure fun by itself.  Membership on the site, Forum, and the contest registration is free...... Will you and your team have what it takes to take down Team Southern Bowhunting? There is only one way to find out!!!

Welcome to Southern Bowhunting. Southern Bowhunting will soon be the premier bowhunting website on the internet. The members of the Team SBH Staff are your average, everyday Joe who loves their time in the outdoors. Our trophies are the memories that are made in the outdoors, a big buck or bass only enhance these memories, but not neccessarily our goal when we go afield. Taught to camp, hunt, and fish by our fathers and grandfathers, we not only believe in, but live the Southern Family Traditions that we were raised by. Look through our site, register on the SBH Forum, and become a part of our growing outdoor family. As a registered member of our forum, you will be able to participate in our upcoming contests. This is an email that I recieved earlier from the National Association for Gun Rights. Appears the courts in Iowa have their act together and supporting the Constitution......

Thanks, Hankjr.

Dear Hank,

I’ve got exciting news to share with you.

In Iowa, a Federal judge has ordered the Osceola County Sheriff to issue a concealed handgun permit to a political activist and take a remedial course on Free Speech and the 1st Amendment.

Iowa Gun Owners member Paul Dorr, father of IGO director Aaron Dorr, successfully sued Osceola County Sheriff Douglas Weber, after his ccw permit application was denied.

Sheriff Weber testified that he denied Dorr’s permit application because of Dorr's political activities and views -- the same grassroots activism that gun owners like you participate in with the National Association for Gun Rights.

Madison Deer Calls Custom Made Grunts

Gear Review

In late August or early September of 2009, I was approached about the Southern Bowhunting staff and asked to do some field testing with a deer grunt for a new and small deer call company. As I was somewhat dissatisfied with the grunts I used during the 2008-09 deer season, I was anxious to give these grunts a try. A short time later, I recieved two grunts in the mail. Upon opening the box and looking at these calls, still in their package, I was immediately impressed.

New 2010 Bows

This is just a hand full of new bows for 2010 by leading bow manufactures. I personally feel that with the bows listed you can find one that will fit your needs.

Alpine Archery

Alpine Nitrous N2O

The New 2010 Alpine Nitrous N2O employs a neutral riser design to provide accurate and forgiving shooting, shot after shot. The power train of this speedster is driven by the new 3G Velocitec Cam. Combine the two and you have the ultimate in agility and horsepower all packed into one awesome package. This system is then topped off with the new LXP pocket which assures it will be touted as the smoothest, most accurate hunting bow in the Alpine lineup for 2010.
