Pro Bow Vise
By Axis Pro
For the last several years, for one reason or another, I’ve began doing more of the maintenance on my bow myself. As such, I have either borrowed the tools/equipment needed to do it myself or I’ve purchased the equipment as I could afford it.
I’ve borrowed couple different bow vises, which allowed me to get the work done, but I wasn’t impressed with the vises themselves. These would only allow the bow to be positioned on one or, if it was a good vise, maybe two planes.

Madison Deer Calls Custom Made Grunts
Gear Review
In late August or early September of 2009, I was approached about the Southern Bowhunting staff and asked to do some field testing with a deer grunt for a new and small deer call company. As I was somewhat dissatisfied with the grunts I used during the 2008-09 deer season, I was anxious to give these grunts a try. A short time later, I recieved two grunts in the mail. Upon opening the box and looking at these calls, still in their package, I was immediately impressed.

X-Factor Outdoors Noise Suppression and Vibration Dampening Systems
A few of the Southern Bowhunting staff have recently become members of the X-Factor Outdoors Prostaff. As such, we were supplied with X-Factor products designed for noise suppression and vibration dampening on our bows. When I received the X-Factor Systems, I was very pleased with the look and quality of each piece of the system. Though, I was pleased with what I saw and felt, before installing the products on my bow, I decided to do some testing and comparisons

The Skull Master European Antler Mount Kit
By Mountain Mikes Reproductions
Over the last several seasons, I have attempted to mount the bucks that I have harvested myself. I have done plaque mounts that turned out very well, I’ve done European mounts successfully, and I’m in the process of learning to do shoulder mounts.
As part of my research for another article, I came across a website with a product that claimed to have a European mounting kit that was universal for all antler mounting needs. As this caught my interest, I sent an email to the company, as I wanted to use the product in my article and do a product review for the Southern Bowhunting Website.

Field Portraits and Trophy Displays
For those of you that read my article posted in the Team SBH section of our website, you are probably aware that taking a clean, quality picture of your trophy is a pet-peeve of mine. As I always keep an eye open for better ways to display the pictures my trophies, I recently came across a website called Wudyaget.com. I glanced through the information posted and immediately bookmarked the website with the intention of coming back to it after my first harvest early (hopefully) next season. I felt that the products that were offered by the company would enhance any trophy photo collection.
